About
Enduo Cycle is a Mechanical Engineering IP licensing business which develops and licenses revolutionary sprocket tooth profiles to Sprocket manufacturers.
This new technology, known as Enduo, fundamentally changes the method by which a conventional chain drive transfers power to the sprocket from single point to dual point engagement on both sides of the sprocket tooth.
This new tooth profile for sprockets enables conventional chain drives to last up to 3.5x longer, reduce 50% of energy losses and is retrofittable to all existing applications.
STORY
Enduo is developed by New Motion Labs, which started out on founder Marcel Fowler’s cycling trip in 2015 when he broke his chain halfway up a mountain. He had a long time to ponder about why the roller chain was still a problem and had not seen any significant improvement since the early 1500s when Leonardo da Vinci created sketches of the first ever roller chain.
Upon his return he found that 60% of all power transferred by the chain acts on only 1 moving point of pressure on 1 tooth at any one time, grinding down the tooth and chain leading to high wear and premature chain failure.
He thought is there a way we can use more teeth or stop this movement, this is where Enduo was first formulated at the Mechanical Engineering Department at University College London.
New Motion Labs was established in 2017 when Josh Palmer and Lucas Lobmeyer joined the team and alongside Marcel spent the next four years developing Enduo, which has become the worlds biggest breakthrough in sprocket technology in over a century.
The company commercialised in 2021 launching their flagship product Enduo Mobility offering its clients huge benefits by extending roller chain lifetime by over 3.5X and dramatically reducing TCO and maintenance.
Following huge commercial success in the mobility sector Enduo is now expanding into the industrial and motorcycle sectors with Enduo Motorcycle and Enduo Industry where chain drive maintenance and accelerated chain wear is still a huge pain point!
Our Mission
Our world needs to make changes to secure the world for future generations. To support this transition, New Motion Labs develops and the licenses revolutionary key components enabling not only rapid adoption by existing manufacturers but the large and quick impact we need to secure the world for future generations.
Enduo, our first technology not only prevents breakdowns and elongates chain life but also increases transmission efficiency, decreasing carbon emissions.
